At EcoNet Store, we’re proud to be the official distributor of Kiwi-EcoNet – the world’s first fully biodegradable, livestock-safe bale netting.
Kiwi-EcoNet was created here in New Zealand by Grant Lightfoot, a farmer and innovator who grew frustrated with the mountains of plastic net wrap left behind after every season. Like many of us on the land, he knew there had to be a better way – something strong and reliable in the paddock, but also safe for stock and gentle on the environment.
After years of testing and refinement, Grant and his team developed Kiwi-EcoNet: a breakthrough natural fibre wrap that performs just as well as plastic netting, but can be eaten safely by livestock or left to biodegrade back into the soil. The result is a practical solution that saves farmers time, cuts waste, and helps protect the land for future generations.
EcoNet Store was set up by John Borsboom and Laurie Wearmouth, two New Zealanders working closely with Grant to bring his invention to farmers and contractors in NZ, Australia and beyond.
Our mission is simple:
- Give farmers a plastic-free alternative that works with standard balers.
- Save time and money by removing the hassle of net wrap disposal.
- Support healthier farms and stock with a product proven safe, nutritious, and effective.
We know the pressures farmers face running a business on the land. Kiwi-EcoNet is built to make life easier while doing right by the environment.
